Results of CSAN Badminton Tournament 2012

April 17th, 2012 · No Comments

We are happy to announce the results of CSAN 2012 badminton tournament.

We have 7 pairs intensively competing for the titles. The competition was fast and furious. And each pair has gone through all tastes of feeling in just about two hours of continuous play. The first round saw four teams survive the cut off. Bong Huy/Romduol, Sothy/Che Khom, Kongkea/Sophea, and Vichet/Phearoun all passed to the final round. While one pair excelled in performance, the other three teams were struggling for the second and third titles. There was a flip of event filled with surprise, joy, and disappointment. Bong Huy/Romduol won one point and expected at least a bronze when their hard work was broken with a crash of two straight losses to Vichet/Phearoun who were just slammed by two previous matches. As a result, Vichet/Phearoun had a duo with Sothy/Che Khom who were just in an intense challenge and loss to Kongkea/Sophea.

However, the duo was a fight for a silver because Kongkea/Sophea already conquered the tournament with 4 points while the other two pairs managed to steal only two points. The match itself was the most fascinating, exciting, thrilling, challenging, and ……ing. The result was a close match with 24-22 win for silver champions Sothy/Che Khom and two bronze medals for Vichet/Phearoun.

We would to like thank all players and audience. We hope you will join our tournament next time, which will be even more …..ing.

GA for Committee President Election 2012

January 1st, 2012 · No Comments

CSAN holds General Assembly Meeting (GA) for Committee Presidential Election every year. This election usually takes place in early December at a building of Nagoya University. Generally, the GA meeting lasts about 3 hours.

The basic agenda of the GA for Committee President Election includes:

1. Opening Remark by incumbent CSAN President

2. Presentation of General Assembly issues by incumbent CSAN President

3. Discussion of the addressed issues by CSAN Members and the incumbent Committee

4. Finalization of the addressed issues of the meeting

5. Qs and As by CSAN Members

6. Opening of new Committee Presidential Election by Election Committee

7. Program run by Election Committee

8. Photo Session

Series of processes are adopted to ensure transparency of the election. Before the election, Election Committee is formed. Usually, members of election committee are selected based on their age and experience. After being formed, election committee will make plan for the smooth election. On Election Day, each member has one vote. After listening to the talk of possible candidates, every member then selects a candidate based on convincing policies of the candidates. Each member selects a candidate by indicating the candidate’s name on a piece of paper given to him/her, and then put the paper in the electoral box. After that, the election committee counts the number of votes in front of the GA. After finishing counting the votes, the succeeded president of the upcoming committee might make a brief talk to end the electoral process.
