17 April 2010: Khmer New Year Celebration
Every mid-April, CSAN hosts Khmer New Celebration party at Nagoya University. On 17 April 2010, CSAN members managed the New Year Celebration at Centre for Asian Legal Exchange (CALE). On this occasion, CSAN invited some representatives of some partnership associations, and some professors of Nagoya Uni.
115 guests enjoyed the celebration with our students here. Among those special guests, there were professors from Graduate School of Law, Honorary Consulate of Cambodia to Nagoya, representatives of Kota International Association, Nakamura Kindergarten, School of Law Volunteers (SOLV), Lao Students Association, and President of Nagoya University for Foreign Students Association (NUFSA). Beside Cambodian students from Nagoya Uni., some students from Fukui, and some Cambodian residents in Aichi prefecture also participated in the party.
The event was filled with performances, such as Ror Bam Choun Por by Ms. SENG Vitou, a Cambodian visitor to Nagoya, Chhai Yam Dance by CSAN members, and Color of the Day Show by 6 international students (Laotian, Vietnamese, Malaysian, Chinese, and Japanese) and 1 Cambodian student. Big clasps from the audience at the end of each performance made the event even more splendid.
Mr TAKADA SEIKI, the consul of Cambodia in Nagoya, gave a toss to start dinner. .
After the meal, the audience had a chance to experience various kinds of Cambodian popular dances along with Cambodian songs. The program was officially finished at 9.30pm with great fun, sincere friendship, and unforgettable memory.
