December 4, 2010: 2011 Presidential Election

On December 4, 2010, CSAN members got together and celebrated one of the CSAN annual events, Presidential election. The first part was the report presentation from 2010 CSAN committee and the second part hosted by 2010 Election Committee (EC) to elect the CSAN President for the 2010-2011 mandate. The event was celebrated at GSID, room 613 with 24 participants including the two ECs, Mr. Sar Senera and Mr. Kim Veara, and CSAN advisor, Mr Ngov Penghuy.

Ms. THENG Tith Maria, the only President candidate, was elected as CSAN President for the 2011 mandate with 33 votes as approved and 1 vote as abstain.

CSAN Participation In a Charitable Event by Sunrise Organization

On August 3rd, 2010, CSAN committee led a group of Cambodian students to participate in a charitable performance organized by Sunrise Organization. This organization is an NPO which is aimed at providing supports to Cambodian orphans. This organization seeks helps from international partners to create good chances for growth of Cambodian orphans, and Japan is one of the contributors. For this year, Sunrise organization with great support from the Japanese donor had an opportunity to arrange a cultural performance by Cambodian orphans at a center called Seikyo-Seikatsu, Motoyama.

CSAN also contributed to the event with a total amount of donation as follows:

1,000 yen for the charity box

1,000 yen each for 13 orphans and 3 Cambodian assistants

The event was one of the great moments full of pleasure and unforgettable memories to have seen the very special performance by the orphans.

August 16, 2010: CSAN Participation in an Exchange Program by CALE

Two Cambodian students, LIM Lyhong and SOM Ratana, from Royal University of Law and Economics (RULE) based in Phnom Penh were invited to join an international exchange event arranged by SOLV-CALE for the Sumer Seminar Program of GSL. The event was on August 16, 2010, and it is a kind of food show to be presented by some countries, such as Cambodia, Japan, Mongolia, Uzbekistan and Vietnam. To help the two Cambodian students prepare for the food show, CSAN committee with the involvement of Cambodian students at Nagoya Uni. provided all the necessary cooking stuff and efforts for both of them.

CSAN would like to thank Mr. NOP Kanharith, Mr. SENG Vanmaren, and Ms. LEANG Sokhom, who kindly spare their time to assist in cooking the food, and we would like to thank many other CSAN members participating in the event. Last but not least, we would like to pay special gratitude to SOLV-CALE to make such a joyful time for us.

August 21, 2010: CSAN Participation in a Cultural Event at Kota-Cho

Kota Town hosted summer festival at the centre of their town with participation of Kota International Association (KIA) on August 21, 2010. CSAN was again invited by KIA to the event.

There were different performances till dusk and there was the launching of beautiful firework at night. Cambodian students in Nagoya also had a chance to show Khmer culture by performing Cambodian traditional dance called Chay Yam. CSAN would like to thank the following Cambodian students for their valuable time to practice and perform the dance.
