Tutoring Assistance
January 29, 2009 | Leave a Comment
A former JICA volunteer who used to work in Kratie province has approached CSAN for Khmer language tutoring. She arrived a few weeks ago after spending around two and a half year in Cambodia. She can communicate quite fluently in Khmer, and she is now looking for tutor to help teach her Khmer, preferably writing and reading. Our Japanese friend is ready to travel from Toyohashi to once or twice a week to learn our language. CSAN committee have decided to communicate this information amongst CSAN members so that to pick up one volunteer who is interested in providing such tutoring to the concerned person. The interested Khmer teaching volunteer will be coordinate to meet with the concerned person and the tutoring sessions will start upon the private decision between the prospective tutor and Japanese student. We hope that you can contact us by January 31th because she is waiting.
CSAN still offers its tutoring assistance to any foreigner seeking to learn Khmer based on the little payment-basis and/or mutual-teaching basis.
Pick-up assistance for a Cambodian trainee

There is a Cambodian trainee coming to be trained at a company in Nagoya City. He arrived in Nagoya on 25 Jan.2009 (at 7h15am). He works as an Assistant Chief Customer Service, Service Section of T.T.H.K CO., LTD (as titled in his business card) in Cambodia. He is scheduled to be trained at a company in Nagoya from 26 January to 30 January 2009 and supposed to leave for Cambodia a day after the completion of his training program.
Although he is not a student, in the name of CSAN, the committee of CSAN decided to provide him the pick-up assistance from Chubu International Airport to his designated hotel after receiving a sincere request from his friend, who studies at Gunma University. The reason is that the hosting company does not provide him any pick-up service, and that the trainee has no any friend in Nagoya city.
With a big help from Mr.SEIHA, a Cambodian student currently studying in Nagoya, who got up very early in the freezing morning, the trainee arrived his destination safe.

To celebrate the year end and new year, CSAN held a party as planned on Wednesday, December 31, 2008, at the Graduate School of International Development, Nagoya University. There were around 35 attendants, including those from Toyohashi and Kariya. In addition, we also received a new Cambodian non-student friend and her family.
The main activities include singing and joke-telling contests, hot potato game and free dances. The party was ended by the count-down and the cutting of New Year cakes.
