GA for Committee President Election 2012
January 1st, 2012 · No Comments
CSAN holds General Assembly Meeting (GA) for Committee Presidential Election every year. This election usually takes place in early December at a building of Nagoya University. Generally, the GA meeting lasts about 3 hours.
Series of processes are adopted to ensure transparency of the election. Before the election, Election Committee is formed. Usually, members of election committee are selected based on their age and experience. After being formed, election committee will make plan for the smooth election. On Election Day, each member has one vote. After listening to the talk of possible candidates, every member then selects a candidate based on convincing policies of the candidates. Each member selects a candidate by indicating the candidate’s name on a piece of paper given to him/her, and then put the paper in the electoral box. After that, the election committee counts the number of votes in front of the GA. After finishing counting the votes, the succeeded president of the upcoming committee might make a brief talk to end the electoral process.
